Forever Beaded Bouquets: Tiny Flowers, Big Smiles, Made to Last

Forever Beaded Bouquets: Tiny Flowers, Big Smiles, Made to Last

There is something special about giving someone flowers.

We give flowers to celebrate birthdays, accomplishments and new beginnings. We give them to say thank you, I'm thinking about you, I appreciate you, or sometimes simply this made me think of you.

But eventually, even the prettiest bouquet fades.

What if your flowers could last forever?

That's the idea behind one of the newest creations from River Inspired Jewelry—Forever Beaded Bouquets.

These tiny arrangements are only about 1 inch wide by 2 inches high, but don't let their size fool you. Each little bouquet is created bead by bead, arranged by hand and tucked into its own miniature glass vase.

And one of the things I love most about them?

Every single bouquet is different and unique.

🌷 It Started With an Idea at Crafted QC

One of my favorite things about owning a small creative business is the inspiration that comes from other creative people.

Danielle, one of the partners at Crafted QC in LeClaire, Iowa, tipped me off to the idea of creating these tiny beaded flowers.

So, of course, I had to try it!

One flower became another. Then another. Before long, my worktable looked like a miniature flower shop filled with tiny roses, colorful blossoms, sparkling beads and little green stems.

That's how the Forever Beaded Bouquet Flower Bar at Crafted QC began.

And people have loved them!

There's something fun about standing in front of all those tiny bouquets and choosing the one. Maybe it's someone's favorite color. Maybe a particular flower reminds you of your mom, sister, daughter or best friend. Or maybe you see one and immediately think:

“That one is hers.”

That's exactly how I hope people experience the Flower Bar.

💐 Why Give Forever Flowers?

Flowers have been used for generations to express feelings that aren't always easy to put into words. Different flowers and colors have traditionally been associated with love, friendship, happiness, gratitude and remembrance.

That's part of what makes these little bouquets such a sweet gift.

A Forever Beaded Bouquet doesn't need water.

It doesn't need sunlight.

And it won't wilt a week after you give it.

Instead, it can sit on a desk, nightstand, bookshelf, kitchen windowsill or beside a favorite photograph and continue reminding someone of the person who gave it to them.

Sometimes the best gifts aren't the biggest or most expensive ones.

They're the ones that say:

I'm thinking about you.

I'm proud of you.

Congratulations!

Thank you for being there.

I hope this makes you smile.

You deserve some flowers today.

And sometimes there doesn't need to be an occasion at all.

🌼 Then Something Even Better Happened

One of the most unexpected parts of this little adventure has been watching the flowers spread beyond my own worktable.

My friends at Offshore Campground have started pitching in, learning how to make the flowers and discovering how much fun it is to create these tiny bouquets.  My mom is leading the way!

But my favorite part is what they're doing with them.

They're sharing the bouquets with other people—giving them to someone who needs cheering up, using them to celebrate happy news or simply surprising someone they care about.

What started as a fun handmade item has become a way for people to create a little happiness and then pass it along.

I absolutely love that.

These bouquets may only be a couple of inches tall, but they can carry a pretty big message.

🌺 No Two Bouquets Are Exactly Alike

That's important to know if you're ordering one of these little bouquets.

I don't mass-produce them or try to make every arrangement identical.

The flowers, beads, colors, leaves and arrangements vary depending on what I'm creating at the time. Some are bright and cheerful. Some are soft and feminine. Some have roses, some have whimsical flowers, and others become a colorful mixture of whatever inspires me that day.

Every Forever Beaded Bouquet is its own tiny piece of handmade art.

That's also what makes them so much fun to give.

You're not just choosing a bouquet.

You're choosing their bouquet.

🌸 Come Pick Your Own at Crafted QC

If you're in the LeClaire area, you can visit the River Inspired Flower Bar at Crafted QC and choose your favorite in person.

I think that's half the fun.

Look through the little garden of flowers, pick them up, notice the tiny details and find the one that reminds you of someone.

Of course, you're also completely allowed to find one that reminds you of yourself.

Flowers don't always have to be given away!

🎨 And They're Coming to Dubuque!

I'm excited to announce that the Forever Beaded Bouquets will make their craft-show debut on October 31 at the Callahan Promotions Arts & Crafts Show at the Grand River Center in Dubuque, Iowa.

I'll be bringing a whole little garden of Forever Beaded Bouquets along with lots of River Inspired Jewelry designs.

You'll be able to browse the bouquets in person and choose exactly which one you want to take home—or give to someone special.

I have a feeling these are going to be especially fun for holiday gifting, stocking stuffers, teacher gifts, coworker gifts, hostess gifts and those little “just because” surprises that sometimes mean the most.

💗 Want One Before the Show?

You don't have to wait until October 31.

Message me to order a Forever Beaded Bouquet.

You can tell me a little about who you're giving it to or the colors you have in mind, and I'll create something special.

Just remember: because they're handmade one at a time, no two bouquets will ever be exactly alike. Your finished bouquet will have its own combination of flowers, beads and personality.

And I think that's exactly the way handmade should be.

🌷 From One Little Idea to a Whole Garden

I never quite know where an idea will take River Inspired.

This one started with Danielle at Crafted QC planting the seed.

Then I started making flowers.

Customers started giving them.

My friends at Offshore Campground started learning to make them and sharing them with people they care about.

And suddenly these tiny little bouquets became about something much bigger than beads.

They became little ways to celebrate someone, encourage someone, thank someone, remember someone or simply make someone smile.

That's a pretty wonderful thing for something only two inches tall.

So the next time you want to give someone flowers, maybe give them a bouquet they can keep.
